How fast is it, really?

The entire backend is written in Rust and the app is built on Tauri 2.0, so it's both fast and memory-safe. Large directories, transfers, and searches stay responsive, and you can watch or cancel any job from the built-in job manager.

Does Cosmil have a light mode?

Yes it does, you can switch your theme preference to light dark, or to automatically match your system settings. We built Cosmil primarily with dark mode in mind so we think it looks better that way, but it's entirely up to you!
